Bladefence, established in 2011 in Helsinki, Finland, offers sophisticated methods for repair and maintenance to maximize the performance and long-term endurance of wind turbine blades. Since 2012, Bladefence has been certified by DNV-GL for wind turbine blade repairs, based on the high level of quality of personnel, work methods, materials and documentation, as well as compliance for the GL certificate guidelines. Bladefence utilizes advanced skylift equipment and UV-curing blade repair method in its operations. In combination, these enable operations in harsh weather conditions, cutting-edge efficiency and minimize turbine downtime.
Bladefence currently operates throughout Europe and Canada with offices in Helsinki and Toronto.
Bladena provides structural enhancement technologies for retrofit and new design, which provide for lighter and stronger blades with higher durability. Bladena's technologies are available as a toolbox that addresses the root causes of individual problem areas in the blade design and manufacturing. They are flexible in their design and each manufacturer may develop their preferred way of implementation to accommodate individual requirements.
Bladena's Technology Platform originates from more than 10 years of research and development work at DTU-Risø in Denmark. Amongst others, this work formed the basis for 7 patents, which were taken over by Bladena, when it was launched as a spin-off from DTU in December 2011.
